Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas?
Remember Mila, the internet sensation who says out loud what we’re all secretly thinking? Back when she was four, she dropped some priceless wisdom that still holds up today. Now that she’s nine, her advice feels like a classic worth revisiting—because sound wisdom never gets old, and a good laugh is always the best medicine. Let’s take a moment to smile and reflect!
7 days in...how you doin’? Mila on New Years Resolutions
I agree with Mila—don’t you? She offers the perfect reminder - changing the number on the calendar doesn’t mean a thing.
Here’s a reality check about resolutions: Only 25% of people stick with them past January, and just 8% actually accomplish them. It’s no surprise why—most resolutions don’t account for how we’re wired. Based on HD types, my (non-psychic) prediction for the 8% is this:
Generators thrive because they love the push.
Projectors excel when they’re invited and aligned.
Reflectors inspire those around them by reflecting reality.
And Manifestors? They succeed when they delegate wisely and stop trying to be Generators.”
Let’s face it: change is uncomfortable. If it weren’t, we’d all be doing it already. Here’s what I’ve learned about creating lasting change:
1. Real Change Invites Discomfort.
We often forget that change means stepping out of our comfort zones. I’ll never forget the wisdom I read once: When you make eating changes, prepare to feel hungry. No kidding! We crave comfort, but progress means facing the discomfort of breaking old patterns.
2. Small Steps Are Key.
Big, sweeping declarations sound great but rarely stick. True change happens in tiny, consistent steps. Take Mel Robbins’ resolution for “micro” exercise: five minutes a day. It’s not the amount that matters—it’s building the habit.
3. Focus on Joy, Not Resolutions.
When I moved to France, I lost weight—not because I forced myself to, but because I embraced cultural habits I loved. Meals became events. I walked everywhere. The joy of the experience made change effortless. When we focus on what we get to do instead of what we have to do, change feels less like a chore.”
Change looks different for everyone, and your Human Design energy type offers a roadmap. Here’s how to lean into what works for you:
Manifestors: Focus on what you think of yourself—not how others see you.
Generators and Manifesting Generators: Move your body! Whether it’s dancing or walking, incorporate joyful movement into your day.
Projectors: Make space for stillness and let inspiration find you. Practice creating your own invitations.
Reflectors: Pay attention to the moon’s cycle and notice how your environment influences you. Curate your surroundings carefully.
Now, let’s bring this into focus. Want 2025 to feel different? Start here:
